Automotive listing giant AutoTrader recently released a study of online vehicle searches. The study covered the period from January through June of 2016. The most searched cars on their site are not actually cars – they are much more likely to be in the full-size truck category!

The most searched vehicle on the AutoTrader website from January through June is the Jeep Wrangler. The sporty, versatile, and ultra-cool Jeep Wrangler appeals to a wide swath of vehicle buyers. Students, businessmen, soccer moms and off-road enthusiasts all love this unique vehicle.
The Jeep Wrangler has long been America’s most durable and fun-loving vehicle. It features a removable top and removable doors for that open-cockpit feel. But what explains the trucks? How is it that the other seven spots on the list all belong to full-size pickups?
Truck Appeal
Trucks, especially full-size trucks, have exploded in desirability once again. Fuel prices at the pumps have plummeted. The utility a pickup truck brings to the plate is useful a anytime of the year, from hauling a snowmobile in the winter to towing a boat in the summertime, visiting a worksite in the spring or tailgating at a football game in the fall.
