Dodge Trucks

Dodge Ram is the longest-lasting family of pickup trucks

The Dodge Ram has always been among the best-selling full-sized pickups on the market - and they've proven time and again to be the most durable. With so much attention being paid to the Ram, it's easy for the other members of the Dodge truck family to get lost in its shadow.

The success of the Ram

The redesigned Ram from 1994 to 2001 was an instant hit with consumers. Customer research showed that buyers wanted a unique yet strong exterior design for their trucks. The truck was updated in 2002 to 2005, and it was once again well-received by the public and experienced record sales. However, the sales weren't enough to keep up with the sales of the Ford F150 and Nissan Titan.

Throughout its production run, the Ram has been available in several special versions. The SRT-10 Ram featured a normal quad-cab body but with the Viper's V10 engine, massive 22-inch rims, lowered suspension and complete body kit. The Rumble Bee was a limited-edition sport edition of the Ram that included 20-inch wheels, a hood scoop, upgraded exhaust and special black and yellow custom paint. Introduced in 2005, the Ram Daytona was a sport-truck edition of the Ram HEMI. It came in silver or "Go Mango" paint and featured many customized upgrades.

The Dodge truck line-up

Check out the current 2007 lineup of power-hungry Dodge trucks:

  • Nitro: Mid-sized SUV - The Dodge Nitro is a relatively new entry to the Dodge lineup. Producing 210 horsepower with a 3.7-liter V6 engine, the Nitro is said to be "loaded with adrenaline." This boxy little SUV sports the same Dodge grill but has a design all its own. Base price: $20,010.
  • Durango: Full-sized SUV - The Durango has been Dodge's best-selling SUV for many years. The redesigned 2007 Durango is now smaller than its previous models, yet equipped with many accessories to help it stand out from the competition. It has a standard 3.7-liter V6 engine or upgrade to the V8 HEMI. It was awarded with the best-in-class for interior room and cargo room and was given a five-star safety rating. Base price: $27,180.
  • Dakota: Mid-sized pickup - The Dakota is a fully capable truck and little brother to the large Dodge Ram - perfect for those who don't need the power or size of a full-size pickup. It comes with a 3.7-liter Magnum V6 engine or optional V8 HEMI. It was awarded with best-in-class for payload and interior room. It provides all the functionality of a full-size without the bulk. Base price: $20,015.
  • Ram: Full-sized pickup - The Ram 1500 has all the toughness, power and safety you'll need in a full-size pickup. The Ram 2500 and 3500 are extremely tough versions built to handle your heaviest workload without compromising comfort or style. Find out for yourself why the Dodge Ram is the most dependable full-size pickup on the market. Base price: $22,405 (Ram1500); $27,180 (Ram2500/3500).

dodge is great, i can gen get over 300,000 miles on any slant six or stock v8 using 20 50 racing valvoline , i have two 318 lebarons now a 77 and a 79, and have had a 318 duster 76 ,a 318 fury 77, a 360 fury 72 , and a slant six belvedre 1965 and they were all beat severely off road before geting too smashed up to drive, but they did have some electronics problems, like lean burn, but they are far superior to any gm crap, and fords are great too, and amc, too ive owned all of them and beat them evenly, never had a flat cam or a cracked head, the secret is run a 160 or 170 degree themostat and stp treatment and dont dont use pennzoil or a 30 wieght youll wipe out your cam, or at least you will with a gm car, remember heat kills.

I own a 1995 Dodge Dakota Sport and I love it!! I am in the process of doing a lot of body work to it, since it was wrecked when I bought it... The truck looks bad but runs like it did when it was new...I will not be buying a Chevy ever again!! This truck also has 130,000+ miles on it and has the original V6 Magnium 3.9L engine.
