Nissan Truck

The Nissan truck is stepping up its game

Nissan may be known for their advanced engineering and innovation, but their trucks have never been that popular. No matter how hard the well-respected automaker may try, Ford and Chevrolet continue to dominate the full-size pickup market. But the newly redesigned Titan is hoping to change that.

Currently Nissan has two pickup trucks in their lineup: the mid-size Frontier and the full-size Titan. Car and Driver recently conducted their 2007 comparison test for the five main full-size trucks: Chevrolet Silverado, Ford F-150, Dodge Ram, Toyota Tundra and the Nissan Titan. Factoring in many qualities such as handling, power, interior and cargo space, hauling capacity and off-road capabilities, the Silverado came out on top, but not far behind was the Nissan Titan. It seems that Nissan has made a strong truck this year, and its biggest appeal is that it's the least expensive of the bunch!

It Takes a Lot of Muscle to be the Titan of Trucks

The new 2008 Nissan Titan is the most powerful V8 in its class. This brand new Titan packs a 5.6-liter 32-valve V8 engine that makes it worthy of its mighty name. Its powerful engine easily produces 317 horsepower and 385 pound-feet of torque. With an optional four-wheel-drive and limited slip differential, it can take on anything in its path.

One of the innovative features of the Titan is its bed utility - it has a longer bed, tailgate workstation and cargo channel system. The inside of the truck is just as versatile - choose from bench seating for six or captain's chairs for five. The Titan surprisingly has endless storage space for a pickup, and is jam-packed with additional features:

  • Heavy duty steel frame
  • Pro 4X Off-road model
  • Six-speaker standard stereo with mp3 compatibility
  • Optional Bluetooth, DVD mobile theatre and in-dash navigational system

The 2008 Titan was recognized as a leader in Strategic Vision's 2007 Total Quality Award. Starting at just $23,700 you can't go wrong.

There is one downside to the new heavy-duty Titan: with only 12 mpg city and 17 mpg highway, you find yourself spending more time at the pumps then you may like. It's not exactly economically friendly.

I wanted to inform the Nissan Corporation that I recently had a rolllover accident in a Nissan Sentra 2006. The vehicle was a total loss. I survived unharmed. no seatbelts were used and the airbags did not deploy. Your vehicle structure and safety for a crash or rollover is awesome.
