Trucks! is a hit television show featured on Spike TV. Originally hosted by Stacey David and Mel Fair, new hosts Paul Vinson and Kevin Tetz are currently taking on the challenge.
Trucks! is a show created by men, for men. It's targeted towards all those gearheads who love big trucks and lowriders. The show takes place in the garage where Paul and Kevin work on a couple of customized trucks that vary between episodes. They show you mechanical procedures and installations, and then take the trucks out for test drives on the open roads.
The guys on Trucks! teach you how to use tools and equipment, how to perform certain performance procedures and modifications, and how to find the right aftermarket parts for your truck. Here are just some of the projects that Vinson and Kevin feature on their show:
Trucks! features a number of aftermarket parts on their show and they typically use their sponsored brands. Some of these brands include Flowmaster, Edelbrock, Summit, Royal Purple, Wyotech and Skyjacker.
The personality of the hosts and the style of the episodes allow the show to effectively reach its audience. It's fun to watch and will definitely provide an entertaining half-hour. However, the usefulness of the show is debatable. Many of the procedures are complicated and targeted towards people who have experience working on vehicles, and the hosts often use a lot of technical terms that are hard to understand. To get the most out of this show, you will need to have background knowledge of mechanics.
Fans have shown a dislike towards the new hosts of the show. They prefer the older episodes with the original hosts, Stacey and Mel. They miss Stacey in particular as they described him as "calm, cool and collected." Fans have found the current show to be boring, not because of the content, but because of the personalities of the current hosts - some of even stopped watching Trucks! altogether. So unless the producers do something fast to address this concern, the whole show will be going downhill. Reruns of older episodes are highly recommended, but when new episodes pop onto your television screen, fans say to change the channel.
